The party did not recruit Findalye. They found her in a cage.

She was in the first great cistern beneath Elleris, a five-level metal drum with pipes running out to every district, penned with the other prisoners while a kobold chieftain decided what to do with them. She knew a great deal about magic and nothing about danger.

She left with the people who opened the cage.

The gap between what Fin knew and what Fin could do closed somewhere in the middle of the campaign. She is a diviner, and most of what matters about her has happened at a distance. She sees before she reaches.

She was inside Direll Lazlow's mind while the party killed him, taking what he knew. She killed a Malyri acolyte standing over orphaned children in the streets of Malinar, in one spell, and sent the older ones deeper into the building to hide. When a Malyri angel put Nerissa on the ground in the Summer Court, Fin took hold of her and put five hundred feet between them and it. She salvaged a cannon from a derelict Githyanki ship and helped fit it to the party's airship.

Fin went looking for her ancestors and found a body. She cast her mind past the Prime Material and witnessed the life and death of the god of the elves and the eladrin, whose husk still drifts in the Astral Plane. She reached again, touched the Feywild, and felt kin there, and a cry for help.

That thread ended in Corellon's tomb. Past the guardians and the lich, Fin stood in front of the remains of her own creator.

Then Dustin and Nerissa opened his ribcage and took the crystal heart out of it.

She has also spent time with an ancient eladrin named Benjamin, guiding him back through his own memory far enough to recover his name: Ebrin Jementh, a Grand Diviner out of the Feywild who once chose to go adventuring in the mortal world.

He does what Fin does.
