Everything stays on your device. Optimizely Power Tools does not collect, sell, or transmit your data to the developer or any third party. The only servers it talks to are the official Optimizely and Figma APIs, and only to perform the actions you ask for.
What the extension stores
All data is stored locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB) on your own device:
- Optimizely Personal Access Token (optional) — if you add one in Options, it is stored locally and sent only to
api.optimizely.comas an authorization header. - In-session Optimizely token — when no token is set, the extension reads the token your authenticated Optimizely session already keeps in the page, and uses it only to call
api.optimizely.com. It is held in memory and not written to disk. - Figma Personal Access Token (optional) — stored locally; sent only to
api.figma.comto render the frame images you attach. - Entity snapshots — copies of experiments and campaigns you view, stored locally to provide version-history restore points.
- Figma attachments and preferences — which Figma frame is linked to a variation, and small UI settings, stored locally.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect analytics or telemetry.
- It does not send your data to the developer or any server other than Optimizely's and Figma's official APIs.
- It does not include or load any remote code.
- It does not sell or share your data with anyone.
Network access
api.optimizely.com— read and update your Optimizely experiments, campaigns, audiences, events, pages, and change history, on your behalf.api.figma.comand Figma's image CDN — render Figma frame images you attach (only when you add a Figma token and attach a frame).
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. You can also clear a stored token at any time from the extension's Options page.
