Optimizely Web QA Helper (the “Extension”) is a developer tool for QA-testing Optimizely Web Experimentation campaigns. This policy explains what the Extension does and does not do with your information.
None. The Extension does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, or sell any personal or usage data. We operate no backend servers and use no analytics, tracking, or advertising.
The Extension saves only your own preferences, locally, so it can remember them:
localStorage for each website you use the Extension on.
chrome.storage. Chrome may sync this to your
own Google account across your signed-in Chrome browsers. This sync is handled entirely by
Chrome; the data is never sent to the developer.
The Extension can also set or remove a QA “test cookie” on the site you are testing, but only when you explicitly click the cookie button. This cookie is part of your QA workflow and is not read or transmitted by the developer.
The Extension can display a live log of Optimizely events occurring on the page (campaign decisions, page activations, tracked events) to help you QA experiments. These events are read from the page and shown only inside the Extension’s panel; they are held in memory for the current page and are never collected, stored remotely, or transmitted to the developer or any third party.
The Extension requests the minimum permissions needed for its single purpose:
The Extension shares no data with any third party because it collects no data.
